macro shots of lilies C&C please

Just a couple shots of the lilies on my dining room table, I've never done much macro photography so critique away. I almost feel like the first one is too busy, although I prefer it to the second one in spite of that. Both photos are taken with a Canon Rebel XTi and a 60mm lens in natural sunlight, no flash.

I agree with you - the first is a tad busy, but I prefer it because of the focal plane selection on the second. Had you focused instead on the nearest stamen (is that what those things are?) then I think the second would be the obvious winner.
