Actually I might have been tempted to crop it more off in front of him and bring down the highlights a tad but either way, I think this is a nice shot,Nice B&W.

Nicely sharp and converted but, imo, without much substance.
There's nothing about him that we can tell.
He is essentially expressionless and there's no idea what he is looking at or thinking.
Street portraits or aok and this turned out well but this is not street photography - it's missing too much.

I don't see why this photo, or any for that matter needs any of that for a photo to have "substance".
As if there is some sort of set formula or recipe.
It's an old man in a park lost in thought. He's looking into open space, interesting enough for me,
but maybe your standards are higher?

The fact that he's alone, looking at nothing, made me take this photo. He stayed like this for a few minutes before he fell asleep lol.

I agree with what Traveler had to say. It is a nice shot but it doesn't grab me.

I didn't take it personal, I disagreed with it. And I'm definitely relaxed lol.
The shot not grabbing him isn't what I disagreed with. In fact that's totally acceptable to me.
What I disagreed with was the idea that since the photo doesn't have x y and/or z it's not considered street photography (which I don't know where that came from or why he said that), or the fact
that is what makes a photo with substance.

Is voicing your differing philosophy a sign of aggression here? lol

I like pictures that are anchored to something rather than just being.
This is sharp, it is well converted but anonymous and, imo, without any feeling of its own.
You say that he's alone, could be, but from everything we see he might be watching his dog play with his nephew or waiting for his wife who is late.
There is no emotion except as the viewer cares to impute to it.
