Hey.
So I've been using this tripod with no problems at all for the past 2 or so months. Quick release plate just snaps right in almost effortlessly. Today, I see some sweet lightning outside my balcony (something I've been waiting to snap for a long time) and when I go to snap in the camera with the plate.. it doesn't fit.?

I've done this countless times, the release plate has an arrow for lens direction, one side has a curve while one side is straight. I am pretty angry right now.

I know I'm not doing this wrong, but it seems as if could be the only problem. This is why I feel like I'm going nuts. I tried so many different ways to snap it in, for about 35 minutes straight I've been fighting with it. I don't know what to think anymore.

I'm trying to keep my cool. I already sliced my index (shutter) finger in the process, lost the shot I wanted, and scratched the battery cover of my immaculate (not anymore) camera when I was fumbling and trying to put that crap on.

I can get it in these two positions, but I can't snap it in. I've tried everything I could think of.

At this point it feels like both pieces have nothing to do with each other functionally. :(

Help!?

Is the 'safety release' accidentally tripped and preventing the plate from seating? I'm not familiar with the RC4 system, but on the RC6, there is a 'two-stage' release, and sometimest the safety lock will accidentally trip and prevent the main release from moving all the way over, which in turn prevents the proper seating of the plate.

Subscuck, I love you..
I thought I had messed around with everything to do with the lever but that was it. I wasn't familiar with that function.

I was about to post a picture of a ghetto twinkies birthday cake for you. Then I remembered about the image policy.
Anyways, have a ghetto twinkies birthday cake on me

Thanks man
