I know that the highlights are quite prominent right now, but I havent had the time to fix it. I am more just looking at it composition wise. What do you think?

Yes I agree would be a lot better if we could see both faces.

I dont mean to seem rude, but this type of shot could use some work. With the hard sunlight on the animals, there is a lot of blowout. You wont be able to fix blowout, because the information is gone in those areas. Also, I dont want to repeat what has already been said about the colt's face. Without those 2 important elements, I'm afraid the composition is sorely lacking. Just my opinion. Would you be able to shoot a few more in better light and with a few different views? I think it would be worth the effort.

As to your question about composition, the only thing I would say is to try and include the mothers head in the picture. Say if you had panned up and to the left just a bit I think it might have made a better composition.
