I like that edit. How did you change the background? I get sharpening them, but why the unsharp? And how do you selectively do that?

I use pse 8 so this may not be the same on other programs. On this shot I chose the quick and easy way and didnt go layers. I used the quick selection tool and highlited both individuals, I sharpened them to taste, 8% and 10.1 radious I believe, this helps separate them from the background some then I went into select menu and inversed selection. This allowed me to go into enhance>adjust color>color variations and selected one of the optional colors at the bottom.
Lastly I used unsharp mask on the mans face/neck by using the quick selection tool again, I use this because I find it does a better detailed job on the face/neck areas. I did not do it on her to keep her image looking softer in comparison. There's other ways of doing this, this is just a quick and easy way. Hopes this helps some.
