MB-D10 MBD10 Battery Grip for Nikon D700

Should i buy a genuine one or a real cheapy from China/Hong Kong?

Feedback from people who have got one or the other appreciated.

I do not have D700 however - I would suggest to invest in the genuine Nikon.

Very expensive camera to be putting cheap electronics onto. I have both and have had no problems, invest in the real thing.

The MB-D10 has an all alloy chassis.

Many think an all alloy chassis is mainly there for strength. Actually, it's mainly there to block stray electomagntic inteference, and the added strength is a side benefit.

I recommend getting the Nikon unit.

Wau I haven't knew that. I thought that it is just for strenght.

I use this $64 grip on my D700 with great success. Hangs with my heavy 70-200 VRII lens and a pocketwizard on the hot shoe with ease. has worked flawlessly. BHPHOTO stands behind it. I could buy 3 or 10 for what that Nikon costs LoL

lol, actually I just thought of something, the d90 and d700 has a different design for their grips though so that could be it too. Luckily i got mine with the camera or else i probably would've never bought the nikon grip myself =P

When I shot canon I used the zeikos grip. However on my D700 I have genuine Nikon. It's really the way to go. This camera compared to my 5d2 feels like it needs the real deal. Also you can up your FPS using the D3 battery. 8fps fx is impressive. To me this camera is meant to be worked to death that includes the grip as well, as I need a grip on all my bodies. To work properly that is.

I've tried the FOR one and i'd recommend the genuine one if you could afford. The genuine one makes you feel real, and make the D700 tough. The FOR one i used had focusing issue, and when i held it, it felt like crap!
