Media question

I've read that the Maxxum 7D can use several different media types, those being-Type I and Type II CompactFlash Cards / Microdrive, SD*Memory Cards / Multi Media Card with optional SD-CF1 in use . I would like to know what, if any, advantages one type has over the other. There is a definite price difference between CF and SD, and most of the devices I already own use one or the other. I know I need to buy(and plan on buying) a larger card(at least 1GB) but would like to know if SD would serve just as well as CF, or would one of the other types be better suited for use.
