I'm heading back into the desert this weekend. Does anyone want me to pick something up? A tumble weed? Perhaps a rattle snake, maybe?

Me, too. I suck at holidays.

We have no plans, but I would like to get out for a romantic picnic and maybe some photography.

Might go hit Rocky Mountain National Park... but might wait too, it will be a tourist zoo this weekend. (unless you get into the backcountry, which is where I prefer to be!) Maybe I will pick a new 14'er to hit, instead!

We have a party on Sunday that I don't want to go to! Today we have a football game that I REALLY don't want to go to. It's over an hour away and I have SO many things I could be doing this afternoon. It's not one I have to shoot, but it's an awesome high school stadium so it'll result in some great shots for the yearbook. Sometimes that perfection thing really SUCKS.

As for scorpions, it's generally too cold. I know that there is one type that lives out there, though I have never seen one. They are pretty small I think.

Any glass would be great like Obsidian, chert, Quartzite, or Jasper. I work them into knives, arrow heads, and spear points.

Through the summer (Memorial day weekend to Labor Day weekend) I interpret history 4 days a week at the State of Iowa Historical Society's preserved, Matthew Edel Blacksmith shop. State Historical Society of Iowa

The Labor Day weekend is the last weekend the blacksmith's shop is open for this year, so as needed, I will be doing tours of the blacksmith shop all weekend.
