more specifically a Red-breasted Merganser and some Eared Grebes. Not the best shot, but as good as possible under the conditions. fast choppy water and harsh light. Oh well. good ID shot anyway.

No this afternoon I drove out on the Texas City Dike. There were two flocks of about 50 each of the Grebes and 2-3 Mergansers with each flock. I fthe winds die down tomorrow morning I may try and get back out and get some better shots of them.

that's a good one,it's also known as the Wallisville Pond, but we have two that are closer. The High Island one produces spectacular shots. But is crowded. The other one is almost unknown outside of Alvin and it is my favorite,
