Merry Christmas!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I sure did! Santa brought me a Nikon D5000! My name is Drew and I am currently stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. I am very new to photography but I have always wanted to get into it. When I was in Highschool I always wanted to get into photojournalism but I was never selected. I just got back from my 2nd deployment over seas and I told myself that I was going to find a hobby that I can enjoy and learn! My wife picked out everything for me and I believe everything is PERFECT for me! I am not looking for critisim just some tips on how to use the full functions of my camera and the use of diffrent lenses and angles etc. If anyone would like to give me tips on how to advance my skills I would much appreciate it! Most of my photography will be taken out doors since we are outdoor freaks!
