Wife says this is a "Day Lilly" ...I'll take her word for it...I'm not a plant guru.



Shot with my Canon T3i, kit lens, set on macro at F4. I shoulda closed the aperture a little, but the sun was going down and was running out of light, so didn't take the time to figure out how to change aperture while in macro mode (still reading and learning about my new camera). I took three shots that ranged from about 1/100th to 1/60th on shutter, hand held.

Perfect focus! I think that the background is a bit distracting though. BUt a very good shot!

Thanks! I have another shot from the other side, but the background is worse (it's growing along the side of the house, next to the chimney, so it makes a ruddy, dirty looking background).

Tripod, tripod, tripod! You did pretty well hand-held, but if you're interested in flowers, even a cheap tripod will open up whole new worlds.

Tripod is definitely on my list to get. I actually have one around here somewhere (some old, cheapy thing, but better than nothing)...I just can't find it!
