Minolta lenses on Canon T1i

Hi all,

My first question for the forum:

I have a minolta SRT101 with a couple of lenses that I would like to use on my Canon T1i. Does a lens converter exist?

I love the optics of the old lenses and would like to use them if I can. Since I am on a strict budget I am hoping a converter exists!

So the gist of it is: unless you are hell bent on using those specific lenses, you are better off just buying new stuff?

Yes I have a couple of Minolta lenses too but, they stay in the box with the body. I thought about going with a Sony body at one time so that I can use the Minolta lenses.

Oh well... all Nikon here now.

From what I found, the SRT 101 use Minolta MC mount, which seems to be compatible with the MD mount (I could be wrong)
Since the Flange distance of the MC/MD mount is shorter than the EOS mount, so in order to have the lens able to focus to infinity, optics is needed for the adapter. And that usually degrade the image quality. And the adapter will also act as a multiplier and rob some light as well. So the original lens will appear to be a longer lens (focal length) and slower (higher f/#). If you get a adapter without and lens, you cannot use it to focus to infinity. Of course, if the original lens is a macro lens, it is not a big deal.
