This is another entry I made for the challenge where we had to create an advert. You'll never guess what it's for. ;)

Feel free to tell me you hate it. :)

It could just be my monitor but it looks a little dark. I think you were trying to keep things dark but just a little more light on the silver part of the camera might give this picture some "punch" to it.

I do like your composition and the hint of objects in the background. It is a good design in my opinion. B&W works very well for this concept.

I never thought of that. Thank you. I'd have to do it in Photoshop though. I can only set the E.V. compensation on the camera. Other than that it's all auto. It's an old digital. I used a ND4 filter and a polarizer when taking this shot to. The prism was showing up bright white and that was the only way to stop it. :)
It's an image you have to view in a dark room. There is a background there which looks fine when there is no light on the monitor. But as soon as there is it goes. The white background of the forum doesn't help either (I'm not taking a dig, it just doesn't :)).

I love the background, but its soooo hard to see due to it being dark, like it took me a few seconds to realize there even was abackground, I just thoguht it was black.

When I battle hot spots it is no small task. I find really frustrating. Generaly I use a piece of wood or even my hand in front of the main light to create a shadow on the pesky hot spot. The closer your shadow making device (gobo) is to the subject the darker the shadow.

As a newbie, I just bought this camera, what a beast. I cant wait to start shooting, waiting for film. The camera was $75 on ebay w a 50mm 1.7 Rokkor lens, and its real minty. I need that little battery for the viewfinder as its dead, just bought 2 on Ebay for $3.00.
