I used to do marksmanship, I have very steady hands... (all those are hand held)

My trick is to use aperture priority and -1 exposure compensation to reduce shutter time, still acceptable. Then I set my camera to "spot" focus, I focus accordingly, lock it, and compose the photo properly and press the shutter.
