Hi Im a newbie photographer that owns an old FD mount 1975ish Canon FL 2.8 300mm lens Fluorite s.s.c.
This lens is to heavy to hand hold and get a sharp photograph and unfortunately Im missing the tripod mounting collar ring. I called Canon and they pretty much laughed at my inquiry in finding one.

Does anyone know of alternate ways to mount an old lens? or if there is a way to make a collar?
or if there is an aftermarket part I could buy that will fit this lens?

(or should i sell the lens)

here is a photo of the lens

Wondering if Kirk Enterprises has a Nikon version one 80-200/2.8 AF tripod sled than could be adapted to this. It is basically a platform with a strap system for Nikon's first autofocus 80-200 lens, which had no tripod mount. I think a tripod mount could be fashioned, yes, based on that idea of an under-platform and a clamping system that just clamps the barrel to the sled.

thanks for the reply Derral...Ill look at Kirk or give them a call and see if they have something that works
