The trees in the foreground take away from the scene. It has potential to be a great shot if you can take it again in a place that doesn't have the obstructions. Keep working on it though!

Yes I thought so too I have just learn t now how to blur out things like trees in foreground the thing is I don't live there this was taken from a motel room next time I go there and hoping its still in winter I will ask for the same room and hope the house boat is there as well LoL but thanks for your comments what about the 2nd link did you look at that one as well.

Sorry, I missed the second one initially. My thoughts on that one would be to take the shot earlier in the evening when the sun was beyond the horizon, yet still bright enough to light your shot without the flash. One thought I had was to silhouette the grass with the sunset. If you can, back up from the subject as well to give it more depth. Just a few thoughts. I'm not a professional, just giving my opinion. Good luck!

Thank you every bodies opinion are important opinions as far as I am concerned are all important the more information you get and ideas the better you become they say practice makes perfect and thank you for you opinion and your time for looking and your prospective . Like I said I am really right at the begging of learning mostly right now about using settings for the right type of photos taken from a balcony these photos had no way of getting around to the spot where these photos were taken as I don't live there and don't know the town but next time I will ask somebody got there late in the day went out for tea/dinner and came home went to bed had time to take a few snaps before leaving again oh and at the time these photos were taken I had 0 lessons lol have a good day.
