Moel Famau sunirse, North Wales.. not exactly as planned

Set off early yesterday morning to catch the sunrise on Moel Famau in North wales as the weather forecast was very good.. it didn't exactly go as planned though as I had to battle a near blizzard to get to the summit. As it turns out though I probably managed shots a little more different than the one I'd otherwise have taken.

Awesome shots! Love the "smoke" coming from the ground

The first one is my favorite!

At second one there is some white border around the building which ruins the whole impression (I understand why it came out that way but it still annoys me). I would not be so sure about placing as much ground at the 2nd. There are no impressive light on the background which could justify such conception (which is the most fantastic thing at first one). At this light more panoramic composition would be better in my opinion (the light on the sky is outstanding and it is shame that it is dominated by untouched by light ground).

Thanks... the mist/smoke is the sun melting the thin covering of snow

Thanks for the feedback.. on the fullres version the white border isn't really obvious, I guess that the compression for web display has caused this

Love these. I think they are very good and certainly different to the norm
