Mom and Daughter (c&c please!!)

Some family friends came over to swim today, and I had SO much fun photographing them!! I'm still getting used to photography, but it's something I'm very passionate about. Any critique would be LOVELY.

Oh, and there is this one! (I don't know why there are attached photos to the post above. Sorry guys!!)

My pick is #5, and it would be the best if you had framed the child better.

1 is nice but the red thing really detracts from the image
2 looks too cold, mibbies adjusting the eh might help
3 and 4 would have been nice but somehing about the framing and shut eyes bugs me
5 really good shot but as designer says needs to be on the other side of the frame to be really good
6 you've cropped off the top of her head and the screwed up eyes don't flatter her
7 is an ok capture and a good family snapshot, quite cute despite the flaws though.

All in all there's room for improvement but real potential if you frame them a bit better

I think these are fun shots.. I don't mind chopped heads in some shots (though others here are like.. super anti) but I'd maybe mix it up more.. and I'd work on knowing when to shoot portrait/landscape orientation.. i'd have probably gone landscape on 4, but then portrait on 6, as an example. A lot of these seem pretty cool in color too.. aside from the first. With them being out and in a pool, I would think you'd be much better off going slightly too warm than too cool on these.. you want them to look like they're having FUN in the nice refreshing water, not chilly cold. lol Hope that made sense
