Shot during the x-mas dinner, I think it's a touch under but I'm happy with it. Any comments and critiques welcome.

Yes. The ceiling light of her kitchen totally throws it.

...but I'm happy with it.

If you are happy with it, then everything is all right.

But as to artistic aspects, I feel that not all is well here, starting with the bright ceiling light which really pulls the eyes (bright light DOES it, always), and going on with the overall composition of this photo, the light and shadow on her face, the view from below to her standing over you (shooting up her nose, as it were), her occupying only so little room in the photo which now seems more about the ceiling than about her, and maybe not even quite ending with the yellow cast it has.

But honestly and in all truth: a photo that YOU like the way it turned out IS the right photo for you!
