Monitor Help!!!

My LaCie monitor just went out (of course I missed the warranty by days). Any suggestions on what type of monitor to shop for? Brand? CRT? Any help appreciated!

Just how good was this LaCie monitor, and what do you mean by days? Like 2 days?

Call them up. Ask them. Press at them that it's unbelievable that a monitor dies a few days after the warranty expires, and if it was a good screen consider getting it repaired seeing how good screens aren't cheap.

My options:
- CRT: No. They don't make them anymore, LCDs are nicer to look at, and modern LCD displays far wider colour gamut than CRTs.
- Brands: NEC, Eizo, LaCie, Samsung. Brand isn't as important as the actual panel itself. All those companies make some crap mass produced panels alongside their shiny expensive fantastic ones. If you're serious about it make sure the screen has an IPS panel in it. The other panels are horrid for colour correct work since their colour alters with viewing angle.
