... I never understood why people use a tripod to shoot the moon. ...

because my 2,000mm lens is a bit BIG to hand hold
on the plus side, with a FF camera the entire moon just fits in the frame ... no cropping at all needed.

Ok ok I've learned my lesson hahaha. I'll try cranking the ISO a tad and speeding up the shutter. Thanks for the input all, just need another clear day now
