Perhaps a slight recrop so that the deer takes more precedence in the frame?

And why does nature have to be so good at camouflage... I'd love for the deer to stand out a bit more.

The re-edit has way too much clarity/sharpness. It doesn't even look real anymore... as for the original, there really isn't a sharp focal point. Maybe it's just me though.

Nope it's not sharp and that is why I called it more neat then worthy, I thought that it was a good capture, but the light was too low, right around sunset, to get a good focus. I can re-crop it though...

I wouldn't worry about it. It is what it is; you can't control nature. You saw the opportunity and took best advantage of it. Nothing wrong with that.
