Thanks Tirediron. That's what I get for trusting the auto wb on LR4.

I would say that 99% of the time I try to use auto WB to see what it will do, it looks like crap. I would stick with using the eye dropper tool. It is really fast and more accurate.

I am viewing this thread, and the images here within via the iPhone 5.

This second images appears quite dull/flat, also, the white balance does seem to be overly green/blue/yellow. I would suggest adding a red filter and play with the saturation and vibrancy. Also, play with the shadows a bit to make it less two dimensional.

Just my thoughts, very nice photo otherwise.

sm4him, you can't be as bad as I am with wb. I've had that thumbnail problem when I attach photos from my hard drive. I don't seem to get them when I use flickr.

Yeah, the one I had a problem with was also a direct upload from my computer, as I didn't want to put it on my Flickr page.

I have never been an advocate of the LR or PS auto white balance tool. It always makes things bland. If your monitor is calibrated, just use your eyes. 9/10 times you'll chose a more appropriate WB than the software.

I was. I opened the real photo and the colors went to normal. Really weird! But whats up with her hair? Did you sharpen these? Her hair looks jagged. That happens sometimes when I over sharpen things.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Last night I was reading in Scott Kelby's LR4 book on how to sharpen and then mask the faces. (I didn't know that before.)
