took these today of my friend and her horse. shot in raw. edited in Light Room 2.2. let me know what you think

The second one is really nice and your friend will love it. Light is pleasing and the yellowish cast goes well with all the brown of the horse's coat, the straw, the wood of the box, your friend's hair. The relationship is visible between horse and owner. It is well focused and tells a story. Subject elements are reduced to the minimum, nothing distracts. The horse's eye is sharpest and carries the reflection, thus standing out and looking alive and alert. Good!

The other two pale a little in comparison.
The first looks like a secretly taken test shot in class, and I am not too taken in by it and it's sloping lines.
And the last is a nice snapshot of her dealing with her horse, but the other two in the background and the roll of straw or hay distract quite a bit.

Yup, shot #2 is a 'keeper.' I was about to mention the somewhat soft character of the image but, on reflection, the lack of crystalline sharpness is a real plus -- not a minus at all.

I really like #2, but,
IMHO it would have been nice if she stepped slightly to her left and turned her head towards the camera a bit. Still looking into the horse's eye, but then we could see the white of her eye as well as a bit more face profile.
Still a good shot as is though.
