I'm only average...........

I was going to say I like the bokeh in the second picture so much.
And now I hear that it is "icky" :confused: :scratch:
Hmph.

Though I am kind of torn between the first and the second... compositionally, the first give the dew drops in focus more prominence because they are placed against a dark part of the background so they can really glitter and shine.
In the second photo with the clearly defined bokeh, the drops in focus are in some sort of competition with those in the background ......

you know what... I looked at the photos again... and I think the 'icky' (I shouldn't have used that word last time sorry) actually works here.

It makes the image look like it's covered in thousands of water drops. I think a smooth background would have given the images a completely different mood.... probably more serious and still life like. But with the crisp bokeh, it looks very 'fairy-land'. Hmmm well like I said before... i think it works either way. And they are very pretty pictures.
