Morning fog at the marina

New to the forum and new to photography, however not new to having a love for all things photography ... I would like some critiques or advice on how to better my shots.

Photo was taken this morning around 930 am with no sun in sight. Shot in manual mode with 18-55mm lens at 1/500, f5.6 and iso200.



The photo below was taken in mild sun light with tripod. Manual mode 1/6, f25 and iso125

Welcome to TPF! These are both very nice - the fog is very pretty in the top image, and I really like those muted colors in the second one. Good choice to use the tripod there.

I really like the mysteriousness of #1, although almost always when I see a B&W scene like this, I'm curious about seeing it in color.
