I wanted to see this one for a while, finally got a chance today.
The first half was really good, creepy, kept me wondering. Aside from the annoying heavy-handed attempts to startle the audience with sudden blasts of music, it was very good.
But then they called in the psychic, and the movie went downhill from there. It quickly became a cliche of everything the director must have ever seen in other movies, trying to be creepier at every turn. They asked themselves "Does this look cool?" instead of "Does this make sense?". All the while, the sudden blasts of music continue constantly.
In short, the film went from good to stupid pretty quickly once the psychic was introduced, and never returned. Even up until the stupid ending - which, of course, was blatantly left open for a sequel. Seriously, go to youtube and just watch random creepy videos and you'll get the same feeling you will watching this movie.
