Not if his mother has any say - There was an irrigation ditch about thirty feet away. My wife refused to wet his shirt in the water and used drinking water instead because it was too "ooky and green". She must have forgotten all the nasty water I'm very sure she used to play in as a child. At least the ditch had flowing water.

If you get sucked into the main canal you'd be dead. These are really high flow canals and ditches, people drown in them all the time.
