I just bought the D7000 and I love it. I have the 18-200mm lens and I think it's pretty decent. I also have the 50mm 1.4G which is awesome.

For that kind of money, you should be able to expect get more than just decent. But, such are the technical compromises inherent in any superzoom lens regardless who makes it.

Many of us consider the Nikon 18-200 mm to be Nikon's current worst lens value.

But, Nikon sells a bunch of them because so many people are willing to accept the 18-200 mm's image quality technical failings for the convenience of having an 11x+ zoom range in a single lens.
Which negates one of a DSLR's main advantages - interchangable lenses. Go figure.
