My first attempt at IR....

whats up folks! these are a couple shots from my very first roll of IR film...im still new to this....it was Kodak HIE.....i kinda wanted more contrast in the foliage but it's okay i guess....im gonna shoot a roll of Ilford SFX 200 with a red filter and see what happens.....

I love IR stuff. Wish there was an easy way to do it digitally. :|

I think that that it is pretty easy to do IR with digital. I know I've seen some digital IR posts on here before.

Yeah, it looks like the highlights got pretty blown out from overexposure. They say it's really good to bracket when first experimenting with IR, as the exposure can be so iffy. That fourth one turned out with enough info in the highlights that I think you could get some more contrast out of the image without killing them.

You got me even more insterested in doing IR myself. I did some checking on the 10D. It is possible, but the hot-mirror filters a lot out. I'll start a thread with the info I find later.

shark, you can buy ir filters for a digital camera. Hoya and tiffen both have them. I am going going to get one at some stage. You can mimic ir in pshop as well.

I can't wait to get an infrared filter, mainly because nz has a wide range of greens that would like wicked in infrared.

thanks vonnagy! you're right....new zealand would look sweet in IR....i'd like to see that.....i'm experimenting with the Ilford SFX right now....i'll post em' up soon.....i think i'll get better results.......peace to all.....
