My first B&W

This are some trials i made as B&W i would like if someone can share tips and hints thanks. I a m newbie here

I like the clown shot........... 'cepting for the halo around him that indicates you blurred the background in post.

The brick building doesn't do much for me. It's like, 'ehhhh'.

I blurred it yes i didn't like the background where he was the clown.
The brick building is a fort actually they build them the Saint John's Cavalier .

You might do better blurring the background by selecting the clown, then splitting him and the background into two layers. By doing so, you can apply the blur to just the background without blurring any part of the clown. Then you can merge the two layers back together.

You'll need to know how to work with layers. It appears you already know how to do free-hand selection.
