My first maternity shoot... CC please

Alright, did my first maternity shoot... i was quite nervous going into this because quite frankly i feel like so many people get "weird" with their choice of pictures when it comes to this type of thing. But, i tried my hand at it anyhow, since i had a client contact me and ask if i would be willing to have a go at it. These are just three of about 60 i am giving the client. Let me know what you think. :thumbup:

#2 is very nice, very subtle. Her blouse is so ornate and luxurious--it's absolutely PERFECT for a late autumn,outdoor maternity shot like that!!! You framed it just right too.

I swear I have seen the heart on the stomach somewhere...j/k it is over-done because it works if done right. I really like the colors on that picture #2. I would like to see that picture, but with their faces.

thanks for the kind words thus far guys! Ya, the hearts are def the "go to" in this type of shoot. I will plead guilty on that one! But ya, it worked quite well! i will post some more as i keep editing!

Both #1 and #2 are really nice. #1 is the best in my opinion. Something is lacking in #3 and I am not sure what.

Ya, i love 1 and 2, #2 was a different style of editing i hadn't done before, but i really liked how it turned out. 3 a lot of people liked else where and the clients LOVE it, but im with you. not sure what it is missing.

lol i just noticed that! i guess i will put one in there from now on! It was snowing when we first got there so she had a jacket one until we got to where we wanted to start and took it off. I'm sure that didn't help. But good eye!

A few wraps of wide masking tape, wrapped around the bottom of a tripod leg makes a pretty decent lint brush....tear off a piece, have the subject wrap it around his or her hand, and make the sticky side be on the outside, then have them do a pat-down...it takes up like virtually NO space. You can even just wrap it around a piece of dowel or a ballpoint pen barrel, and have plenty of "lint brush" in the space of a slightly-fatter-than-stock ball-popint pen. The Bic brand ballpoint pens, the ones with the clear barrel and the five sides (remember junior high??? the spit-ball-shooting ballpoint!!!) are easy to get the tape started coming off of.

If you're a big spender, you can use "real" black low-tack gaffer's tape too, and pre-wrap some onto the pen, and that's an easy way to carry it around without the PITA of a doggone roll of tape floating around in your bag or pack...

If you're a big spender, you can use "real" black low-tack gaffer's tape too, and pre-wrap some onto the pen, and that's an easy way to carry it around without the PITA of a doggone roll of tape floating around in your bag or pack...

I never use it as a lint brush but I have several strips of gaffer's tape inside my hard hat and wrapped around tripod legs. has saved my ass a bunch of times.

She had little white dots painted on her nails.

I like #1 the best.. #2 the coloring and edit is really nice but I feel like the fingernails and all thats going on in the center made me dizzy or something and #3 is just okay.. maybe that one I'd have preferred in color.
