my first senior session!

Hi everyone. As the title says I did my first senior session this week. I recently finished a posing workshop so I would love to hear some feedback. TFL

Nice set Paige!

I like how you have his head between buildings in #3. I wish his body was oriented towards the other side of the frame in #4 though. Also, in #5 his left arm looks a bit forced and awkward, but I like what you were going for.

Thanks Tyler! I see what you mean about #4...I was trying to get some light on his face though (+the city background). I also see what you mean about the left arm... particularly the shoulder...def needs to be relaxed a bit more. thanks for the feedback!

Overall, a very nice set. Bringing the chin down a bit would help to define that nice jaw line. #7, nice expressions, but not so much the pose. #2, one step away from the bg.

Thanks Texkam. I totally agree about #7, how would you strengthen that pose? Teen siblings are so much different to pose than younger kids! Why would you have him step away from the bg....more separation I assume?

Yeah, more separation. I was thinking that too, but didn't end up posting it. Looks like he was pretty close.

Yeah, more separation. I was thinking that too, but didn't end up posting it. Looks like he was pretty close.

He was...I think he was actually leaning back on it. So I will remember that next time thanks.

It's not a bad shot at all and would work well in, say a 3 or 4 shot series. I perhaps would have also explored placing them at 45 degrees facing one another, looking out at me. After some posed ones, encourage them to interact and shoot away. Many times the keeper is the one where they are being a little silly and their relaxed emotion is captured. Just like #8. Your work seems to have a nice feel.


This is not a technically great photo, but as I was setting it up, she leaned back and planted one on him. To those that know them, it captures their true personalities.
