Hi Folks

I'm new here but thought I'd post a few of my favourite pictures from a wedding I did at the end of October as a second shooter in Solihull UK.

The rest of the album can be seen at the below link

I originally thought they were slightly warm on my monitor but seeing the entire set fits in with the time of day. I must say for your first wedding you ROCKED it. You did a phenomal job. Great variety and real emotion captured throughout the entire day. Well done.

Really nice set. Lovin #3 and #4. For your first time they're awesome

I have to echo that is really good for your first time. Shows you did the research and prep work before hand. Post more =)

btw on the first set of pictures, the right one can do without or maybe cropping out the ledge will help.

These are really gorgeous. Great clean, natural shots. Well done.

Cheers folks, glad you all liked them (so far Lol). Just looking forward to getting some more clients now.

I just shot my first wedding , and now I feel like I did a horrible job haha

Nice shots for a first wedding! Keep it up!
When it comes to color, you really need to look at the images a day after initial retouching. The eye can easily get used to the color even if it's tweaked somewhat. And then you overcorrect. Looking through hundreds of images only exaggerates this. Just my 2 cents.

@ Sokkphoto, yes I know exactly what you mean and do do that, however I do generally like a warm bias, however I may feel different next month, next year etc. as my taste has already changed allot since I started out.

Usually threads on this site that start out with "my first wedding" are train wrecks. I was glad to see that you started out as a second shooter. And then I saw the shots... and I'm really impressed. Lots of creativity and you clearly know what you're doing behind the camera, as the focus and exposure are spot-on, which a lot of first-time wedding shooters (on this site anyways) seem to have trouble with. Congrats, and thanks for sharing!

Cheers Brian, I generally under expose by about 0.3-0.6 of a stop to safeguard highlight detail, and then just increase the fill-light slider in lightroom to lift the shadows + increase overall exposure a bit.

Easily the best "First Wedding" post I've seen here. As long as you've got good business sense your clients won't be far behind. Your images look well composed, well exposed, and full of heart. Nice work.
