What's new

My good deed for the week

Best of luck in his treatment! Hope all goes well and you're able to hand him off to a nice home. Btw, I like Nivens quite a lot! Seems that'd be a good choice. :)

Thanks! Nivens (I decided I liked that name the best) is doing great. He's eating like a pig, and cooperates very well when taking his medicine. He is pretty laid back for a bunny. My lab sits and watches him for hours, and he does't even pay any attention to her.

Nevins is still doing well... I'm working on litter training him, in case I just happen to decide to keep him (my little sister is supposed to get him when he's better, if she has permission).

Since this picture was taken, I have shaved the hair around his eyes, so he can see better (and so I can watch for discharge a little easier). :lmao:

P.S. This was also an excuse to practice with my new 50mm 1.8. ;)

I have a Dwarf lionhead too!
His name is Nibbles ^-^
He's not very photogenic though =/

He's cute! I've only had Nevins outside a few times sine I saved him last week, since it's been cold and rainy, and I'm trying to get him better.

I've learned he likes to throw his little pellet bowl and make noise when he runs out of greens. Lol. I've never had a house bunny before, so this is a little new.

Oh they will drive you insane.
The second his bowl is empty, he's throwing across his cage, chewing on his bars, and just being a nuisance.
Not to mention every time I put my hand in the cage to give him food, he growls at me, and attacks my hand! Very ungrateful little bunny.
Mine enjoys playing outside, but I don't take him out too often,
all they wanna do is eat and poop.

That sounds like a very interesting project you have with the bunny. I've never kept bunnies but he seems like a handful! Good luck

He's a docile bunny. So far. I plan on having him neutered at work when he's better, and old enough. (I research like crazy when I get new pets, and I've read that neutering them helps alot wih aggression and "attitude" problems)

He definitely knows how to get my (and my dog's) attention! Lol. I let him on my couch with me for a little while (he's done great with litter training and doesn't go on my couch, thankfully), and he snuggles up to me, or my lab. It's cute!

McCoy: I had a couple rabbits outside that I caught at the county fair as a child. I didn't spend very much time with them, other than feeding, and occasionally letting them out to eat grass in a pen. Being a farm girl, we raised rabbits for butcher, so I never really got too "close" to them as pets. This is definitely a little new to me! I've had a variety of specis as pets, but never a rabbit like this.

Thankfully he's doing very well. Eating like a pig, and hopping around like a champ.

See mine's not really the snuggly type.
If you put him on the couch he'll sprawl out on his side and just sleep.
=p

I can understand why you didn't get close to the rabbits on the farm. You should get some pics of him eating. Does he eat carrots? Or just greens?

KevinPutman: Mine's still pretty young (not sure exactly how old though), so he has yet to grow into his personality yet. Lol.

McCoy: Carrots aren't really very nutritious for rabbits (more like empty calories), so he only ges them as treats. Same thing with apples, as they seems to have a sweet tooth.

His diet consists mostly of grass hays, a small amount of timothy hay pellets, and a big helping of dark green veggies every day (kale, romane lettuce, spinach, parsley, broccoli, etc).

I've taken a few pics of him eating, but they were a little blurry from movement... My house has crappy natural light, and I've not the best light source. I'll have to ge a few when the weather's nicer outside.

Mine's a little over a year old now I think?
He's got a veryyyy lazy personality. I should provably play with him more.
But when you get him out in the yard with a friend,
he's not so lazy =p

Well of course he's not going to be lazy outside, with a shephard (or malinois?) chasing him! Lol.

My lab likes to play with him. She actually gets a little jealous when I'm handling him. She will force her way onto my lap. Lol.
