Well done. Nice breadth, good picture. It's has good "portraitness" which means, to me, that it creates in me the sense that I "know" him a little bit.

My only quibble is that grandpa's face doesn't seem as important as the lamp parts upper left.

Thanks, I tried to capture him in a moment.

I wanted in either include all the lamp or none of it. But he doesn't like having his photo taken so I was being subtle.

Very nice. VERY nice.

My only feedback is it seems a little dark and moody... which is great if that fits him or the moment, but if not... maybe brighten it a tad.

That said, I love the effect it has and wouldn't change it unless you felt it was "off".

It doesn't read 'dark and moody' to me, but more 'grumpy.' He looks grumpy. Which means I like him. And he's totally rocking those light socks and dark loafers.

I think it read more "tired", as he is the least moody/grumpy person I know.
