Technically, it's a Cornet. :)
Actually it is a pocket trumpet. Plays and sounds just like a full size horn, just coiled up tighter.

I was thinking of that too becz of how compact it was with the heavy bell flare as my cornet isn't that compact, nor of course my trumpet.

Most pockets have a small bell like a pic. This one is a Max pocket. It sounds and plays every bit as loud and full as a standard trumpet. I take it to games and play it in the stands with my band students.
 
ahh .. I miss playing in marching band. Long time ago ...
Most people who play in the band in high school say it is the best part of HS. My students do....
