My Home Remodel (So far)

I bought a house last year on April 30th.

I kind of jumped in head first and started remodeling literally the day we closed on the house.

I do not make a ton of money, and I have been working as I can spend the money.

This past weekend we tackled our living room and I believe we are now at about %90 complete.

I thought some of you may like it.

We lack all trim work and a new front door.

I will post pictures of what I have of the entire process.

Keep in mind nearly all of these pictures where taken with my iPhone.

seriously, it looks like you have it coming along nicely and you are doing good work. That paneling has got to go...
Not sure what kind of fridge that is but it looks real familiar. if your water dispenser stops working you can shove something up the tube it freezes in there. But the real problem is it freezes in the door behind the dispenser. Two choices you can cut out a hole in the door and insulate around the line or tack something up to reflect the cold on the inside of the door.
if it happens to happen. just sayn.

Lol the fridge was free. To be replaced when funds allow.

I enjoy the work. Like I really like the work. My job sucks and I'm constantly bored so it seems like I can finally think and do with my mind and hands as I want when I get home.

is that laminate flooring like pergo?

edit: you might want to re think the fridge purchase. if you have little kids they tend to break the drawers climbing up them trying to reach the chocolate milk on the top shelf. They also shut the door without the drawers closed which don't help.
personal experience. That's all.

It's not laminate, it's an engineered flooring.

It basically made of ply and has a birch "wear layer" on top. So it is still real wood.

I wouldn't buy it again, my weimaraner's claws seem to scratch it a lot easier than I hoped

yeah so you cant refinish it. And if you check the warrantee they have disclaimers for abuse, ya know. hi heels, pets, anything really.....

still looks good though and probably lots cheaper.

Actually you can refinish it, some you can refinish 2-3 times.

Wasn't very cheap either, I caught it sale for a good deal though.

no kiddin. thanks for the info. That layer was always real thin. Guess they make them thicker and better now or you bought a high quality one.

I think I worded my first post wrong now that I read it again.

The living room itself is 90% LOL

The house in general I would put at around 65%. (Very "intellectual" guess ha)

Also, I am only 23 years old. Working full time, and trying to get my bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering Technology online, and I got married in November. My plate is as full as it could possibly be.

All the hard work will be worth it in the end, especially the degree! I like what you have done with the house so far.

oh no!!!!!!!
stop working on the house NOW then.
wait five years.
if the marriage makes it five years, proceed.
Up until then.....well they usually get the house in the divorce anyway..
