My Long Path

I took this shot a couple months ago and recently GIMPed it to this. It was a photo that didn't come out quite right, but now I have a version I like. Unfortunately due to limits on its size, I had to compress it and lose all kinds of qualities. Along with much needed opinions on the shot, tips on how to get better quality uploaded images to show you guys would be more than welcome.
