The white balance looks off in all of these pictures

Agree; back to the pixel room, set your WB off of the black-point of the cloth he's resting on.

Agreed. It makes his skin a little orange. Very cute little guy though.

maybe I'm color blind I know the first one color is off number 2 and 4 I did no editing to the color what so ever

No one is saying that you edited the color, just that the white balance is off.

I did edit number one but will be working on the white balance. I'm still learning alot and just excited when asked to do photos I just wonder if my color vision is off a little I seem to see colors a little different then some and not just on here. But next time I will check my white balance before I take final photos. I have worked on it some with my daughter as my model and I see the differences in it. Do you have any suggestions on taking photos outside?? I have a shoot coming up with a big group so I'm listening if you have any on that. How bad would it be for me to shoot a little above everyone verse at there level?

You can fix the white balance in pp pretty easily. I would show you, but you have that your photos can't be edited.

To me the color looks cold yes closer to normal color. I didn't' see the orange colors in photos maybe yellow. Thanks everyone for not being nasty.

When you start out, it's hard to notice when WB is off. You get an eye for it.

Yeah I think I might try different shots and print them out to see if I can tell better we will see.

What kind of light source did you use? Tungsten lighting will give that organish color cast to digital photos if the camera WB is set to sunlight rather than being set to tungsten lighting.

#3 needed fill lighting. The babies face is badly under exposed, but they are all sunder exposed to some degree.

Take note of Speckles edit. On a technical level, the exposure, once the white balance is accurately set, should be such that your image editing software indicates that the skin highlights are between 235 and 240 in the red channel.

Adding a gray card to the first image of each new light setup is used to set the white balance post process.

I was using natural light and an external flash. Still learning alot about the camera I need to get out and practice more since it is getting warm out. Thanks!!!
