Hmm, this present was actually one I gave myself, and it had to be before end of the year because of the new tax in 2007 .. and to get the 150 EUR cashback from Canon ... if it wasn't for those two reasons I would have bought it probably late spring and not now.

Thanks And first tests with my neighbour's garden-"Kitsch" indicate that she is well behaved

just not the kind you'd take home to see the parents.....

oh, but that is exactly what I will do, after all they are always curious what I waste my money on


BTW, the weather is horrible in the southwest at the moment, isn't it? I'll arrive in Exeter tomorrow, but probably i should not expect any good weather for photography ...

Can anyone tell me why Canon etc don't supply new lenses with protective filters already fitted? :meh:

Well, I took that cap off on purpose And the front glass you see is actually not a lens but a protective piece of glass which can be replaced easily. The lens shade is installed as well, you can just pull it out.

hmm, i even like the white-ish paint Actually, when I see how hot my black lenses can become in full sun I am happy that this one is white ...

yeah its real bad right now... more stormy weather heading in for the weekend... my parents had to cancel thier new years boat party because of the incoming gales :roll: ..... typical. Not really photog weather either
