My New Remote For Camera!

Hi all.

Been a while since I posted anything, and since my wonderful replacement remote got here yesterday, I decided to try it out and show the results. This is another of our 30 minute scrambles before work, and while I really like how the dress looks, the background was just awful, and was subsequently just leveled to extinction. I'm terrible at composites, so this is as far as these pics will go. Still, it was our first time at playing with this kind of dress movement, and I really liked how.... liquid(?) it came out.

Feel free to tell me I'm dreaming.

I like the form, but I don't think that monochrome is the best treatment for these. I would like to see them in their colour form.

Yeah the colour versions suck mightily I'm afraid, to the point where I didn't even keep most of them. I was using silver effex's structure to try and bring the detail back to the dress as I lost quite a bit when I bumped the contrast, as you can see here.

These shots do show the fluidity of the dress, but I am wishing that the model was a little more animated.

Get her signed up for belly dance lessons! Veil and double veil performances are a photographer's dream when it comes to material in motion and part of the learning experience is stage craft (if the teacher is any good). I have some I'm processing from last weekend, when I have them ready I'll post a couple to show you what I mean.

#2 is the best flow of the material in my opinion.

Just making an assumption here, but I think part of the intent was to show the movement of the dress as though it were liquid moving on its own. To that end, the rigid posing provides an excellent counterpoint.

And for what it's worth, I think I like the color versions better. The sense of fluidity in the dress is enhanced by the various shades of color, an effect lost in the monotone versions.
