I know the red harness spoiled the pics but I cannot help it. If I removed it, my parrot would say bye bye to me.

Taken with a Nikon D80.

Let him say what he wants, as long as he doesn't fly away. African Greys are beautiful birds, and yours is no exception. Given the circumstances, I think these are pretty good. #1 is especially nice; BUT the background really detracts from it. Always consider what's behind the subject. It's out of focus enough that it's not really distracting, but it is a detractor.

Awesome photos. I did not know people took their birds for " walks ". I'm glad to see you do.

Thanks for your advice. I have tried many times to get similar pose but so far my Grey wasn't cooperating.:grumpy:

My Grey does "walk" a lot.

Love the greys, we have a guy in town with a grey who drives around in the summer on a scooter with his parked on his shoulder. My favorite of all the parrots.

My husband had an african grey when he was little. It went crazy and started plucking his feathers out and biting people....
These are great captures but these pictures make me sad. This one here is a very powerful picture imo:

Wings spanned all the way out, nothing but blue skies around him and there seems to be a smile on his face then theres the bright red leash to bring him back down to earth/captivity. Alot of symbolism here. I like this picture a lot.

I love the contrast of those tail feathers.

One of the customers at the bicycle shop I work at has a perch on her handlebars for her parrot. Unfortunately the bird met its' demise and the wheel of the bicycle at the same time.

Nice Pics, sure the leash does detract a little bit. But clearly it is a necessary tool.

Have you tried cloning the leash out on the second picture? I had some luck if you wanted me to show you

My Grey is born in captivity. I don't like to keep wild caught birds. Greys are very sensitive bird. We need to keep them happy otherwise they would start plucking their feathers. They need lots of attention. Having regular outdoor activities is one way to make them happy and content.

Is ok. I prefer to keep the pic as it is. Thanks anyway.

I quite love these pictures. You wouldn't mind if I used #2 as a background on my computer would you?
