well..cute kid, nice aperture in the 1st one. the close-up of your father is an effective, 'edgy' experiment. i like the colors (the fence). you got great light over in california. what's your real interest ? portrait, social documentary or more location pictures?

You've posted more images than I'm able to offer individual critique on at this time (ideally five or less is a good number). Therefore, I'll offer some general comments. Overall, the images are very good technically; you've got good exposure, and some nice B&W conversions, but I get the impression that you're not really sure what you want to shoot. What I would suggest is do a series of photoshoots, one of people, one of nature, one of urban scenes, and post the best 3-5 of each, in turn, here for critique. This will help you to get a feeling for your personal niche, and also provide you better critique as it will based on similar images.

Just my $00.02 worth - your milage may vary.
