Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
This is a pic of my oldest daughter. Yes, I am posting a pic of my child, gasp! lol As long as you don't make personal digs at her, I am down for the meanest C&C you can dish up. ;) I am a newb and am working on my exposure and focus mainly. I am sure someone will say that this should be in portrait orientation, I am prepared. I am also curious about what you think about my pp. I don't like most of the actions that people are really into and do all the editing myself, which isn't much. Anyhow, thanks in advance!

What bugs me is the missing arm on the right hand side...I think this should have been shot horizontal, but with the camera right hand shown in the frame. This strong back/side-lighting can be tough without fill light unless the in-camera exposure is just right...overall the lighting is a very nice time of day, but I think the tone curve is a bit too "hot", and that the in-camera exposure could have been a bit more favoring of the highlights on her hair and arm, and then in post you could have "lifted" the shadows up, and thus maintained the bright parts as bright, but not burned out. I would have favored less wooden beam on the left, and more of the kid's other hand. You did a good job to keep the background plain, simple, and green.

I like it. Maybe a reflector could have brightened up the face a little.
Just the strand of hair in her face is a major distraction for me.

Keep up the shootin' !

I like the pose because the angle of her arms lead you into to her eyes, which I think, turned out great. To make it really work she just needs her left arm back.

OR, you could always throw some sunglasses on her...:lmao:

Love it...agree with the whole missing arm thing (I often forget my kids' toes/fingers, EEKK!!) but all in all a great shot!

It feels like there is too much headroom.

I love the shot! You could crop out a bit on the left side of the frame and try adding some fill light providing it does not blow out the hair.

Ahh, yes. The missing arm.. lol You should have seen me almost break my neck trying to back up enough inside that teeny gazebo to get all of her in the frame. I almost flipped backwards over the rail, much to the amusement of my daughter! lmao The hazards of shooting with a prime. All the points were well recieved and I appreciate it. The "too much headroom" comment makes me wonder if I should crop in down some, but then I would be lopping off more body parts. Gaah! I adjusted the curve so that there were no highlight warnings. Perhaps I should have shot it at a faster speed to get the exposure less, but then I would have to use lots of fill light pp, right? Whew, learning is hard work. Thanks again for the comments. I will keep on trying. :)
