A few nature shots I took. Let me know what you think.

Thanks! I try to do this when shooting people. Guess I never thought to apply it to inanimate objects as well.

Cloud shot (#3) is my favorite.

Seems like #2 would have been better in color since my first thought was to envision a big beautiful willow in all its glory...only to have the B&W choice throw water on the vision (it's also clipped at the top).

The flowers seem soft to my eye.

My $0.02.

I see what your saying. And now that you mention it I agree 100% about the softness of the flowers.

I agree with the cloud photo being the favorite. The willow pic has potential but it needs more contrast. The dark's need to be darker but if you do that in post processing it's going to make the light's too light at this point, I believe. Try taking it again, if you can, and bracketing the shot to give yourself some options to work with. Nice shots, just keep on perfecting them.

I agree with what your saying in regards to the color. Almost looks as if its a lousy 2D drawing. Nothing pops. What do you mean by bracketing the shot? Thanks for your comments!

Well I just spent a while researching this bracketing. I guess is manual "HDR". I will play with this as I believe it is achieved in AEM mode on my T1i. But then I guess the next step is to figure out how to combine those photos. I do my post with Aperture 3. Suggestions?

I love the colours in your cloud picture. How did you get the gradual change in the shade of blue? Was it done with some sort of filter.

I had to look at your black and white picture twice. I like how it fooled me into thinking it was a colour shot of a snow covered scene... if only for a second :-)

I love the clouds. The rest are just OK; need work on composition. The willow pic has nothing in it that stands out.

This is an old photo. If I recall correctly I took this slightly under exposed and then playing with curves and saturation got the contrast the way it is. Guess you could call it dumb luck.
