Neck Strap Help?

the Hand strap has webbing small enough to go through the loops on the camera where no comercially available webbing will.

That's why straps like the OPTech Pro, have a small loop of string/cord on the end.

Going back to the original issue. One reason why most camera use plastic buckles & clips, is that metal clips can wear off the finish of something that it's rubbing against constantly.
If you look at some old cameras that did come with metal clips on their straps, the area around the strap attachment is likely to be worn down to bare metal.

Another bonus of the OPTech with break away padded section (see 2nd photo above) is that I can easily still attach my Black Rapids strap when wanted and the two short ends will clasp together over the bottom mount of the BR strap without any dangling bits.

Oh... and one more thing. When mounting the rig on a tripod or monopod, I don't have to worry about all that extra strap to accidently catch on and topple the setup.

Guys this has been very helpful, thank you. I'm reconsidering my thoughts on the metal hardware, for one. Also examining all the straps you have shared.

Part of me wonders if I shouldn't just get a hand-strap. Truth is I'm usually either holding the cam with the strap wrapped around my arm, or I have it on the BR strap...
