Need a Tripod

Hi I am a beginner. I mainly use my digital cam for recording myself for youtube.

I use to hold my cam in my hand, but it's exhausting and shaky. So I decided to get a tripod.

Never had one, can u recommend me a good one?

If it's just for holding the camera reasonably steady while videoing for youtube I don't think you'll need a particularly good model.
What sort of camera/lens combination will you be using?
Will you be carrying it any distance?
For lightweight cameras there are some very cheap (<$15 ) models that might be quite adequate, use these with a DSLR with a big lens and the results will be bad (or even catastrophic).

I think you would be happy with a Gorilla Pod. It is small and lightweight, but you can place it on a table, or wrap the legs around a rail. I think it also has magnets in the feet.

I've got the 70 inch version, it's a monster. I wouldn't recommend it for something to carry around, they are ridiculously heavy. But for shooting video and setting it up at home, this would be a pretty good choice I think.

The Joby brand will probably be better made, and last longer, but if you get away from the Joby brand, these things get really cheap. Might not work as well though.

Don't buy a new tripod! They are definitely something you're far better off buying used.
