I've played around with photography for years now and took a class in high school but come january i am taking my first photo class in college. i need to get an 35mm SLR film camera that has manual control. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

If you specifically need a manual film SLR, something like a Pentax K1000 can be had for a modest price from eBay.

Pentax K 1000 is what i used at uni it was cheap and easy to use

Nikon N65. Its a $500 camera and you can find it relatively cheap. Check it out on Amazon. Go under the 'buy new and used from...' and a list will show up. I got mine and love it.

Pentax K-1000
Nikon FM-2
Canon F-1N (this one would be the most expensive ... but it is close to my heart)
