Need another lens-should it be Tamron 17-50?

i have a canon 70D. I am of course a beginner.
The lenses I have are 18-135 kit lens, 85mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.4

I have toddlers who are on the run all the time. When I go outdoors with the 50mm lens, I don't feel the pictures are coming out too well since the kids are far from the camera

Should I get a Tamron 18-50 or a canon 18-200?

Also I need a Brush up with beginners tutorials.

Nope. For a start you've already got that focal length covered with your 18-135mm and your fast 50mm prime. So buying a 17-50mm and then having three lenses doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Neither does buying an 18-200mm as you already have the 18-135mm covered.

I'd suggest if you feel like you are not getting close enough with the focal lengths you have probably a 70-300mm would give you more flexibilty and a better zoom range.

Possibly a 100 to 400mm but that will depend on how much you want to spend and whither you want to carry a big lens about too.

You have 3 good lenses. I'd say don't spend for a while, learn bit more about your gear,

If they are too far from the camera when you use the 50mm lens, use one of your other two lenses—each offers longer focal lengths, or a longer focal length.

I'd agree with Weepete on this one, if your shooting outdoors you don't really need faster glass and you already have that focal range covered.

Of course you could save yourself a ton of money and instead of buying a new lens invest in something like this:
